I’m sorry you believe this. It’s really not true. I mean, it’s true of SOME people, but not everyone.
I have plenty of conservative relatives who are good people overall. I disagree with them about a lot of things, but their day-to-day actions are not those of bad people.
Do remember, as well, that we have to live with them regardless.

There’s a difference between facts such as human caused climate change, and culturally dependent definitions of what constitutes significant harassment or discrimination. Do you decide to believe someone who purports to be victimized based on their gender or race? If a woman or liberal says they are victimized do you take this as true on face value, but if a conservative man says the same thing, you automatically reject it as untrue?
Here is the take home lesson:
We believe and accept everyone’s feelings of discrimination as legitimate, except conservatives. It is like the last 2 years did not take place.
Face it, there was enough sympathy that was enough to get the ones that claimed discrimination for white people to gain power. But the MAGA conservatives then tossed the baby with the bath water when deciding to follow their beliefs and destroy protections that even helped white people when discriminated.
All data that they found to be contrary to their beliefs is being suppressed and institutions. destroyed. Forgive me for not giving much sympathy now when the ones you elected are not understanding other points of view, that would be tolerable (as it was before) if people would not be losing their jobs or dying as a result of those asinine rejections and active destruction and corruption from the MAGA conservatives in power.
Because conservatives have been fighting against antidiscrimination laws for more than a century.
According to them discrimination does not exist.
That is until, say, a Kim Davis or a wedding photographer or a cake baker comes along and we learn that it’s wrong to discriminate against Christians simply because they don’t want to serve Leviticus 18:22 “abominations”.

So, yeah, FUCK THEM, they’re living in the world they fought tooth and nail, fire hose and bombed church, for.
Like the other person said, the last paragraph is…not founded in reality. Plenty of conservatives love their families, like their friends and care about their neighbors. Some don’t, but many do.
That is the claim…and the claim only works if you disregard the accompanied facts. This isn’t a simple matter of “we said/they said”, no matter how hard you push that idea.

I No more than consuming media on crystals, holistic healing, star signs gets you a complete understanding of progressivism. Its nuanced. Its not black and white. Have you talked to multiple, regular, run of the mill conservatives? Do you try to understand their point of view, or do you shut them down, call them names, and continue to not see why you think they hate liberals.
You have your own world view and are not inclined to accept information that indicates conservatives can be and are ‘good’ people. It becomes a religion for the left. You take it on faith that conservatives are evil and don’t do anything but evil. Any contrary data goes against your faith and is disregarded.
This is why this thread is just a circle jerk of liberals congratulating themselves on their superiority without really wanting to consider that conservatives have a legitimate world view themselves. Its like Reddit. “Why are conservatives assholes?” …and then no conservatives show up for some reason to be berated for being assholes. And then we don’t learn anything directly from them and just turn into our own echo chamber.

Somehow listening to thousands, if not tens of thousands, of conservatives talking about politics and current events through a conservative lens grants me no insight into what conservatives think but consuming media on crystals, holistic healing, and star signs gets one an incomplete understanding of progressivism?

So says the one that ignores that as a leftist I do agree that there is a good number of conservatives that do good. Unfortunately most do good when they announce that they are retiring , or on their last days in office, or seeing the writing on the wall. Ever wonder why?

Never thought about it this way before, but it strikes me as being equivalent to a deathbed conversion.
Facing “The End” really does have a way of clarifying certain ways of thinking.
Because now they are retiring, they no longer need to face the fear of being voted out of office, since they are leaving office. They can speak their mind, just like how you can criticize your boss freely once he’s your ex-boss.
We are supposed to be the boss. That explains why is that the current Republicans in congress are spineless besides being hateful of moderates, independents and liberals.
