And where I’ve seen the chocolate, it sure as hell doesn’t melt easily enough to be used in the manner that I think it is…although I’m not sure. Are we melting it over body parts or using it as an “after dinner” treat? And this is a common thing to do? I mean, I’ve heard or possibly even tried whipped cream; I could see chocolate syrup (too messy, I’d think), but melting actual chocolate bars?
But, anyway, I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a chocolate on my pillow. I’m sure I have, but it’s not particularly common at the places I stay, at least.
I’ve stayed in a pretty wide range of hotels and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a chocolate on my pillow. I’m sure it happens but I don’t think it’s the norm.
Edit:
This might be why I’ve never seen it. Is it something you only get if you call for help figuring out how to use the bed? I know how to get into a bed so I’ve never done this.
Interesting incident at the Swissotel (that looks funny, but I think it’s right) in Chicago. It was the first week of November when I stayed there. The first two nights I got regular high-quality dark chocolate in a fancy gold wrapper on my pillow. The third and last night I got a fun-sized Snickers.
I think this was a consequence of not tipping the maid, which I don’t do until I check out. Maybe.
And maybe they just had to unlaod a bunch of fun-sized Snickers.
