I suspect I am nto the only one who this happens to, but I am wondering:
Why do I feel chilly when I have a full bladder? This doesn’t happen if I am in an unusually warm environment, but if I am at a comfortable temperature, and my bladder is full, I’ll usually get a chill, or even continue to feel a bit chilly, until I have emptied it.
Conversely, why does getting a chill (say I stepped outside into the cold air for a moment) often increase the sensation that you have to pee? I have known several people who would remark upon this after, say, a fire drill in high school during the chillier months, and I always wondered about it.
Doesn’t sound like the shivers since it’s a cold feeling before urinating.
My bet is on what I was told in my snowcamping class - a full bladder means that your body is keeping a few hundred milliliters of fluid at body temp and that takes energy. Get rid of it by peeing and you can devote that energy to keeping yourself warm, not waste products. There were a couple of nights when I woke up feeling uncomfortably cold, going out and taking care of business made it all better.
Yes, it’s definitely not shivers during or immediately after peeing, it’s feeling chilly before peeing, or subsequently, a chill causing you to feel like you have to pee…
