Battery replaced recently, then the little rubber band looking seal thing broke (looked like a thick black hair hanging from the back), but I keep getting some kind of condensation inside the glass.
I have baked it in a low low oven per Google, buried it in rice (almost nightly at this point) and while it’s fine for a while, the moisture comes back.
I thought it was from wearing it at the gym, that somehow it was soaking up the sweat, but I skipped the gym this morning, and it’s back again!!
With the seal broken the air inside the watch will reach the same level of humidity as the surrounding air. A drop in temperature causes the water in the air to condense. I think it’s less common now with well sealed battery powered watches but it was a common problem back in the dinosaur age when I used to wear a wristwatch. Get the seal replaced, and if that doesn’t work get a better watch.
Yes, but you need to find a relatively dry area to do this.
The seal on my (old) watch broke and I could not find a replacement. If it rains hard, or I go to really humid areas, I will get the condensation thing. The moisture collects (somewhere) within the watch, and until you dry that out, the condensation will keep coming back (with your new seal, it’s now trapped inside).
