Why do “Key Hiders”, those magnetic or stick-on velcro things for your car, have the words printed “Key Hiders” on them?
Few products say what they are on them.
What’s wrong with putting that on the cardboard holder only?
As it is, it’s like an invitation to everyone who services my car when I’ve forgotten it’s down there.
Shouldn’t they even be more secretive, like the dummy rocks for under the shrubs? Can’t they look like lumps of road tar, so they will be left untouched by people who don’t know?
I guess this sounds like a simple gripe, but I wonder if Cecil would let it go at that. (Think “What would Cecil do?”)
It’s a well known fact that criminals can’t read and always ignore the obvious. Thus, by making the Key Hider look like a key hider and actually putting the name “KEY HIDER” on it they make it toatlly impossible for crooks to find.
Maybe so YOU, the actual person who placed the key there will be able to find it better later on. The average criminal is in a hurry and doesnt have time to read things, so he or she probably wouldnt notice it. But if you forget where you left the damn thing, which has happened to me before…the big white letters can help you find it. Just a WAG.
