Why Do Men Have Nipples

upndownon1, if you cannot post without resorting to name calling, you are not going to be able to post.

You have taken an unnecessarily hostile tone in your posts that are doing nothing to promote your view, but which are edging dangerously close to a violation of the Forum rules. You would have already incurred a Warning, except that your syntax is sufficiently tortured that you might argue the claim that your insults were generalized observations and not direct name-calling. However, you are on notice that the next outburst will be seen as ignoring my direction and will result in sanctions.

As to your direct comment to lissener, since he has not attributed any false quotes to you, I can only conclude that you are not actually reading the thread before you reply and are randomly assigning poster names to be the targets of your hostility. This also does nothing to promote your views while leaning over the edge of Forum violations.

Obviously it is you who did not read Lissener’s post. Here is his quote:
“Instead, your “criticisms,” as presented, are a nebulous fabric of ignorance and false assumptions. Your position, which is basically “I know the absolute truth and I have utter faith in my beliefs and nothing you can ever say will make me change my mind and any attempts to explain will be viewed as attacks on my belief system,” is hardly an inviting basis for discussion on the matter.”

I never said or implied such a thing. I just disagreed with the fairy tale of Evolution as an explanation for male nipples. And as I made quite clear, my views on Evolution existed without religious influence. A person with brains and common sense and logic cannot accept Evolution regardless of whether or not there is a God. I never professed any religion. I merely believe the Bible, taken as an ancient historical document, is exceedingly more accurate than these so called theories of Evolution - a theory invented for the sole purpose of disproving the existence of a God without any regard to facts or logic.

Ban me if you like, because again you obviously didn’t take note of the name calling and derogatory personal attacks made against me long before I made replies. And if you DON’T see their attacks then you are unfit to be a moderator. But do as you like. This isn’t the only board on the net. Fools enjoy fool’s company, so I’m sure you’ll be more at home without me here.

For someone who claims to have all the education that you do, it is surprising to find that you are unaware of the use of quotation marks even when not applied to a direct quotation as his opening clause

indicated.

Beyond that, the following statement is a lie:

There were several challenges to your statements, but the first insult hurled in this thread was your wholly inappropriate comment

So now, I will Warn you that your behavior is inappropriate.

I have no great desire to ban anyone, but if you are going to wander in here making unsubstantiated claims, false accusations, and personal insults, I am quite willing to take on the task.

You talked about why a body part exists; that naturally brings in evolution.

Evolution is the only rational explanation for the biological world; there are no serious competitors. Creationism is pure nonsense, with no evidence at all. Evoultion on the other hand has vast amounts of evidence.

We and you came from apes, not monkeys. Not only are you mocking the correct position, but you’re using a false insult to do it.

The Bible is accurate ? It’s full of mistranslations and contradictions; it also contradicts the historical record.

Evolution was invented to explain the nature of life, not destroy religion; as far as I know, the majority of those who believe evolution are religious.

Given the present state of knowledge, anyone who doesn’t believe in evolution is either ignorant, stupid or a fool; that’s just the way it is. When one side has evidence and the other doesn’t, the first is what deserves belief.

upndownon1, putting aside questions of tone and/or attack in this thread, I hope you continue to participate in this discussion. (I would suggest, however, that you familiarize yourself with the local bylaws. You’re allowed to call people names and suggest self-mutilation in The BBQ Pit, but in this and all other forums we’re expected to adhere, as much as possible, to the dry academic tone of “serious” debate. If someone in here makes you angry enough to call them “stupid,” call them out in the Pit. As I’m sure a person with your education would be the first to agree, such tactics have no place in a serious discussion.)

The reason I hope you’ll continue with this is that I’m fascinated by the conclusions you’ve reached. I’ve never had a chance to really examine an anti-evolutionist’s understanding of evolution. Personally, the more facts I learn about the natural world, the MORE sense evolution makes. All the available facts only fall into place, according my admittedly limited understanding, only within the framework of evolution. I would be seriously interested in examining with you, one item at a time–calmly and academically–your conclusions versus my conclusions.

Every time I do the math, the answer’s the same: evolution. Every time you do the math, you get a different answer. I’d like to understand why that is, why two intelligent people can look at the same set of facts and come away with two entirely different understandings. Returning to the “math” metaphor, I’d like you to show your work. I’ll show mine too, of course.

Anyway, I hope you can find a way to work within the framework of this Board’s rules. As rigid as they seem, in the Wild West of the Internet they’re actually extraordinarily helpful in keeping discussions like this one on track. Without them, this wouldn’t be the Dope. I’ve spent a lot of time looking around the Net for a comparable forum, and there really isn’t anywhere that even begins to compare to the combination of factors you find here: size of sample, variety of subject matter, and maturity of tone.
