I’ll be building a poll and all of a sudden, my work disappears. I’m building one and I’ve added 15 choices and…it goes. It seems random and it doesn’t get saved to my drafts or anything.
They’ve been stored in the poll vault.
Are you using the advanced options? (Gear wheel at the lower right.)
That may be better if you’re adding many options, because you can add them all at once in one box.
Fortunately the death penalty for this sort of thing has been abolished recently. Though you make an excellent argument for bringing it back.
I assume that you are using Discourse’s poll builder and aren’t just typing in your poll manually. Is this correct?
What browser / device / operating system are you using?
What exactly does “it goes” mean? Does the poll disappear when you try to post it or does it disappear while you are creating it, or something else?
In the reply box of the reply window, the gear at right shows a dropdown with Hide Details, Blur Spoiler, and Build Poll. That’s what I used. It requires adding options one at a time.
@engineer_comp_geek does that answer your question about manual input?
I’m on a laptop with Chrome browser. I think it updated to Windows 11.
It goes=it disappears, as though I’ve submitted it. There’s no draft left. Am I accidentally doing Ctrl-something, Windows-Something? It seems like when I try a poll with several options, that’s when it happens.
Ah ok, never noticed that one.
ETA: Looks easier to do that way, thanks.
Don’t we still put people in the stocks for public humiliation?
