My 20 yo son was in an car wreck April 6,2012 & passed away September 12,2012. Most of the time when I cry for my son my tears burn my eyes. They don’t do it every time but they do most of the time. I’ve never before had tears that burn. Is this normal? I have been looking up grief tears on the net & all I’ve found is there is a toxin in grief tears but not one article says anything about the burning. 
From what I understand, it may be a combination of dry eyes & the salt in the tears. You might check with an eye doc, just to be sure. I also think a grief support group might be a help to you. I’m very sorry for your loss. HUGS
