Why do some people hate Starbucks?

Yes, they are so much better. Not only is their coffee cheaper and much more flavorful, but there are all of these subtle flavor nuances to each variety. It’s almost similar to a fine wine. The desserts are much cheaper and tastier as well.

Starbucks just doesn’t make their coffee right. I suspect that they are brewing it at a temperature that is too high and releasing the bitterness.

Yeah the problem now is there’s so many Starbucks that young people only know Starbucks coffee, so they dont actually know how much better coffee can taste.

I’d give Diedrichs an A+ for quality and taste.
Starbucks gets a B.

National brand grocery store coffee flunked out last year.

But at least SB is better than Yuban, Folger’s and the like. By that fact alone at least it’s improved our collective palate.

I have nothing to add to the argument (I prefer cheap 7-11 coffee), but I can say that seeing a Starbucks right after a 2000 red Mustang convertible drove right through their front window was one of the biggest guilty pleasures of my life.

Fact, eh? Sounds more like an opinion to me. Personally, I’d rather have Folger’s (well, actually I’d much rather have Millstone) but to each his own, I suppose.

One day I’m walking through Manhattans’s East Village (where I live). A woman approached me and asked which way the Starbucks was. Hmm…thinks I. Does she mean the big one on Astor? The other big Starbucks across the street from the one on Astor? The one on 2nd Avenue? The two in Union Square? Maybe she means the one on 3rd by the Blockbuster?
Eventually I just pointed in a random direction and said “it’s about 3 blocks that way”.
