Sadly enough, the six year hiatus is NOT the record. There have been a couple that have had more than a nine year wait (and, even more sadly, they usually have changed email addresses so my notification to them falls into oblivion.)
Slug’s illustration has inspired me to name any race horse I might own in the future “Degloving Injury.”
I myself was degloved to a small extent in 1980. Mr. Happy got caught in my zipper, tearing away quite a bit of skin. Only slightly less serious than in There’s Something About Mary. It was actually a lucky, er, break, because the injury festered instead of healing, and when I went to the doctor it was discovered I had syphillis or gonorrhea, can’t remember which, but was asymptomatic otherwise. The festering was a manifestation of it.
It turns out me, my roommate and a friend of ours all caught it from the same girl, who also infected about half the male population of a small college in New Mexico that the friend was attending during a big weekend party that year. The girl was an old high-school cohort of my roommate and friend.

Only after the third time I saw the picture did I notice that the device is set up so that pedaling it not only “grabs” things, but the whole contraption moves up on the frame at the same time to get you. Though, you have to pedal backward for it to work.

On first glance, it looks like the left-most pedal is extended to the far side and the right-most pedal is the near side. Looking at the rod for the left-most pedal, it then appears to make a sharp U bend and connect to the near side.
Further study shows this to be an erroneous interpretation. The left-most pedal comes off the near side of the hub. The bend is not a sharp U bend, but rather a 90 deg bend seen from an odd angle. That makes the right-most pedal the far pedal.

What can I say? That was one horny slut, and I say that in a nice way. The party was all weekend long, and she kept taking guys off with her. Myself, I did her on top of my roommate’s suit, which we forgot to move off of the bed; he did not appreciate that. One of the few who did not go with her was gay, but she came onto him so strongly that he seriously considered it. Good thing he didn’t! Imagine the emotional scars. My friend who was a student there, and thus responsible for the girl attending the party, was not very popular afterward.
