every time i put a CD in drive D on my computer, the little blue thing that comes up on startup saying “finding scanner” comes up again. i was wondering… what the heck does the scanner have to do with the CD drive and why does it have to respond to it? is there a way i can stop this since it kinda slows down my computer (which is already kinda slow in the first place)?
I had a Visioneer OneTouch model that did this. I suspect yours is the same, yes?
My solution: Got rid of the scanner and uninstalled the software. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.
yeah, that’s the kind i have. and i am really tempted to get rid of or at least disconnect the scanner since the light always wants to stay on while i’m trying to sleep. andbesides, i don’t use it that much anyways.
Ah, but here’s the rub: It still searches for the scanner periodically even when it’s not attached. You have to actually get rid of the software.
