People shouldn’t be free to burn down their houses since that puts my house at risk. This is a matter of public safety and national security.
Turkeys should be fried in government approved facilities by licensed operators, over the age of 25, and certainly never on a Sunday.
Why haven’t we banned this infrerno practice? Where are the real regulatory agencies when we need them?
I believe the DHS linked to a video produced by Underwriters Laboratory. They basically put out a press release and posted a few Tweets about this burning issue. In other words, they didn’t spend much, if any, government money.
That said, the idea of three or four gallons of boiling vegetable oil scares me, especially when it’s in an unstable container atop a propane fire. So I’d never do it.
Look, lots of people are really really dumb. Half of them have below average intelligence. Yes, if everyone were smart capable adults then we could do away with all sorts of things. Except lots and lots and lots of people are antisocial retards. So we can’t.
