I don’t spend enough time googlewatching to know what the timescales were - it may have been a day, a week, a month or a year. But given how sloppy Google can sometimes be, and how quickly they changed it, I buy the “Incompetent” rather than “malicious” explanation.
I just started using Google Chrome, and it works better than FF or IE for me, except it spellchecks everything. Does anyone know how to turn spellcheck on/off in Google Chrome?
Damn this thread is 3 years old.
Anyways to disable right-click in an area where you can type and go to language settings and there’s a option to disable.
No such option in the right-click menu in my version of Chrome.
But there is “spell-checker options,” which leads to “language settings,” which leads to the option you mention.
Since he asked about spell-check, “spell-check options” is pretty obvious place to go.
Man, reading this skepticism is fascinating in retrospect. I remember being skeptical of Chrome myself when it launched; now it’s all I’ll (voluntarily) use.
I’ve been favoring Chrome since roughly when this thread started, though I use Firefox as well.
There are things about Firefox I like better, but Chrome has a pleasing interface with, ironically, minimal “chrome.” I’ve gotten used to its minimal presentation.
Well, so far - it’s faster and easy to use. I switched to it about two weeks ago and I’m likin’ it a lot.
