They were innocuous, perfectly acceptable mod actions being complained about while citing a post about deliberate mod baiters - he was demonstrating an example.

There is no sense of humor or perspective on either side. One camp bitches incessantly and is opposed by a camp that defends regardless of the charge.

Complaints do need to be open, but it was better when it was in the pit where neutral posters actually bothered to chime in. Things got solved that way. What we have now is a constant, and I mean it never seems to stop, battle between insurgents and sycophants.

Really? I didn’t see myself as either. Sometimes I think the mods are right and sometimes I think they’re wrong. In this case I posted a reply to what I thought was an unjust cricitism of a mod action. I did not realize until you told us that you were making a different point. But as you yourself said, “[you] threw a piece of bait that had no merit.” I fell for it, and maybe just because there seemed to be so many attacks on mods lately that I thought I would “help you” see where you were wrong. I’m just all kinds of helpful that way.

Ah well, on with life.

I’m flattered that some of you liked my post, but I just realized that I didn’t respond to the entire point of the OP. I would not object to a separate subforum for complaints. I would object to them being private. Transparency is a good thing. Sure, there are times where it’s better to be private, but it’s also nice to see how the mods respond, and get the input of the other board denizens.

I know this place isn’t a democracy, but even the best monarchs want input from their subjects. And while there are some who do it in a really offensive, whiny way (myself unfortunately sometimes included), I think it’s still worth it.
