Why does Trump give his support to the medical conspiracy crowd?

I mean, every poster to date has touched on part of the elephant as it were.

  1. Troll the libs.
  2. Grift the base.
  3. Political calculous.

But there are probably at least two more:

  1. Don’t tell me what to do you smart people! (more nuanced than this, but it boils down to that)
  2. CDC, and any taxpayer supported health (a rich person/(R)/MAGA bugaboo) costs me money in TAXES. I shouldn’t have to pay for them! And of course, all gov’t money is TRUMP’S money.

MAHA’s cures cost nothing - or rather, they cost him and his ilk LESS. Really quite simple that way…

There’s one more aspect to this which is the.way it’s part of the wider co-opting of the utter insane literally lunatic fringe into the mainstream GOP by Trump. The “crazy” gun nut has always been a GOP demographic but Trump brought the utterly bonkers David Icke style neo-Nazi demographic into the fold.

The kind of medical conspiracy currently at the center of US health policy is not “government vaccine mandates are the thin end of the wedge for Communism” it’s “the Jews are putting microchips in vaccines to send demonic messages into my brain and make me impotent” kind.
