I was looking up Wal-Mart’s executive staff in the Dun & Bradstreet’s Million Dollar Directory the other day to send them a letter. Would you believe there are about 10 people with the title of “Pr & CEO”? What the heck is the logic there? And, who’s really in charge? I know Wal-Mart is not alone in this, but that’s the most flagrant form of micro-managing, I WAG, I’ve seen yet! Talk about “passing the buck”!
…Oh, and have you seen the key to the Executive Wash Room?
If any one human being controlled that much economic clout, he’d start taking over small countries, launching laser death ray satellites, and trying to corner the Kryptonite market.
a) Kryptonite? Dang! You can get anything at Wal-Mart!
b) But seriously, like this will stop anything? Look at the Enrons of this ethical age!
Maybe corporations should let their execs handle chips, like the casinos, that must be cashed in before pay-out…? The books should represent chips, not dollars, until someone trusted and revered (and a good Patsy) in the family verifies all transactions? Otherwise, how can ever keep straight who is handling what?
Are you sure that Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. has multiple CEOs? That link only lists H. Lee Scott, Jr. as the President and CEO. Wal-Mart does have a number of divisions that are run separately that may have their own CEOs. For example, walmart.com has a CEO, John Fleming.
