devilsknew, you may (or may not) be correct about F911’s honesty, but it certainly will not change a significant amount of people’s minds about anything. Do you think a lot of pro-Bush or pro-war folks are going to see it? Moore should have titled the flick “Preaching To The Choir”.
I believe people of all political persuasions will be compelled to see this movie. It will be that important. People may hold out on partisan principle but they will be compelled by the power and truth of the imagery that this movie promises and in the end be forced to confront it and see it on merit alone. The buzz will be inescapable.
Re : The supposed ‘edit’ cutting off Heston’s answer. While it’s true Heston is given a chance to reply, it appeared to me as if he was about to say more.
Re : The sound-effects blending of the ‘cold dead hands’ and the Denver NRA rally … Yep. Moore has blended the applause into a continuous track, giving the illusion of continuity.
Re : The mysterious invisible cameraman - Glad I saw the movie - because now it’s clear BOTH cameramen would need to have been invisible to get that shot in one take.
The film also seemed to have a distinct lack of coherence regarding it’s message… and the cartoon segment was serious bunk. Though I wouldn’t have assumed the cartoon was from the South Park guys… the voice talent used struck me as markedly similar to that of South Park.
And of course, during the segment on racism and fear … cutting to a mini-section of ‘Africanized’ bees… ugh. Was he shooting for humor, there?
I enjoyed the ‘Corporate Cops’ parody though.
Is just me, or does Michael Moore look like Peter Jackson’s evil twin?
As my only point of disagreement with you was in your criticizing something you hadn’t seen, I’m satisfied. Your opinions and feelings are now buttressed by first-hand experience. I’d like to compliment you for actually sitting and watching it to gain that experience.
I’d love to see a cite for that. I, for one, have serious fucking problems with both.

The first thing that popped out of Google for me:
A chat with Mr. 'TV Nation’
But how do you respond to statements that you’re biased? Some of Newt Gingrich’s people were upset and said you had a simplistic point of view. These people should be upset. We are biased. We have a point of view. That’s like the pot calling the kettle black, saying that were being simplistic. Newt and these Republicans have risen to power by simplifying everything and trying to play upon peoples’ fears and prejudices and get them to blame other people for their problems.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – I don’t have a problem with bias, as long as you admit to the bias upfront, so the rest of us can give more/less weight accordingly. It’s the polemics who push their biased views as “fair and balanced” that cheeses me off.
