Why doesn't Steve Harvey ID the "brand new car!" families can win on Family Feud?

“A brand new Ford Edge!” The way he said ‘Edge’ was kind of creepy and weird.

LOL. Like you wouldn’t take a free supercar! Sure, it’s not the V-10, but it’s no slouch either.

It was, *“That’s too much!”, *which if you watch the show, know is virtually unwinnable.

Yep.

That’s not how I understand it. Now, you don’t get the car right away (paperwork has to be completed first) but you do ultimately get whichever car was shown on the set. And that’s the same for all of the merchandise. Here, for instance is a Q&A from The AV Club with someone who won a bunch of prizes on The Price is Right. The car she won was shipped by the dealer in Los Angeles to a dealer near where she lived in Reno. And she also won a nice, but Price is Right themed, pool table.

Many years ago, as part of a store’s grand opening, my name was chosen as one of 10 (I think) people who had a chance to win a new car. We each received a key, only one of which would actually start the engine and make that person the winner.

It was made very clear ahead of time that if I were to win the car, I would not only be responsible for the taxes but have to pay them immediately, before taking possession. It was part of the paperwork I signed before the key-turning contest took place.

I didn’t win, by the way.
