I heard on a radio show that Clinton pardoned some terrorist before he split. Is that true and why the heck would he do such a thing? Man, I can’t believe some people still like this guy. He has got to go down in history as the worst president EVER! I’ll take Nixon anyday over him.
Clinton may have been a perv and a foreign policy bumbler, but he was better than Nixon!
And I’ll take a cite any day over “heard on a radio show”. This isn’t even worth commenting on.
I can’t tell whether this is best suited for GD or the Pit…
Bill, do you have any, y’know, facts we can work with here, or are you just venting spleen?
Am I correct in assuming that the “radio show” was referring to Patty Hearst?

Don’t let any unpleasant facts get in the way of your OP, Bill.
[sigh]
Pardoned terrorists? How about “Facilitated the Stock Piling of Biological Weapons in Iraq”
This thread doesn’t belong in GQ, but who gives a rats asshole when someone calls Clinton out for the fool he is.
Ok it was Rush. I understood Duck Duck some of these people were also bombers. Is that not true?
So, did Hastert start that rumor about Anthrax in the ductwork in order to maximize the terror, or was he just looking for a few days off work ?
Ok it was Rush. I understood Duck Duck some of these people were also bombers. Is that not true?
There is a book coming out on all of it. Ironically by a writer that was killed on one of the hijacked planes. Supposably Clinton was trying to stop the book from being published.
I don’t know who Rush was referring to, but Clinton pardoned a bunch of FALN terrorists, including some pretty violent people.
He “supposably” was, huh? Bill, we’ve got to teach you to start supporting your assertions. Please give me a cite for the following: 1) Clinton pardoned a terrorist. 2) Some of “those people” were also bombers. 3) There’s a book coming out on the subject. 4) Clinton was trying to stop the book from being published. [5) Rush Limbaugh is an accurate source of information.]
Internet links to authorities reporting each of these things will be just fine. Feel free to use Google.
Philster, such bile is both unbecoming and inappropriate.
Get your conspiracy theories here! Was the implication in that statement unintentional, Bill?
I knew the Republicans would find some way to blame Clinton for the disaster, I just didn’t think it would be so direct.

CONGRESS CONDEMNS CLEMENCY FOR TERRORISTS
Last Thursday the U.S. House of Representatives voted 311 to 41 (72 voted present) to condemn President Clinton’s decision to grant clemency to 16 Puerto Rican terrorists in jail in the United States. The president’s decision to let the members of the Armed Forces of National Liberation (FALN) go free if they vow not to return to violence sends the wrong message to terrorists worldwide.
This Administration has never been shy to adopt controversial positions, but its latest announcement to offer a get-out-of-jail-free card to 16 Puerto Rican terrorists goes too far. On August 11, the president offered clemency to the group which has been behind bars for nearly two decades for claiming responsibility for bombing some 139 civilian, political, and military sites throughout the United States from 1974 to 1983. The violent acts resulted in the deaths of six Americans and the permanent maiming of dozens of others, including law enforcement personnel.
The president and other supporters of the clemency offer maintain that none of the 16 were actually convicted of “terrorism”. This is misleading since at the time of their conviction the U.S. had no anti-terrorist statute. That is not the case today and the 16 defendants have never contested evidence presented against them nor expressed remorse for their actions. A former federal prosecutor of the terrorists noted that they were videotaped making bombs in preparation for attacks on American military bases when they were captured.

Please show me, Bill, why it’s “ironic” that the person writing a book about Clinton’s pardons died on one of the hijacked planes.
Here’s a hint: Irony is not a black fly in your chardonnay.
Jeepers Creepers, Bill. You are SO totally wasting our time.
That Puerto Rican thing was two years ago, dammit. Rush is an ass.
They weren’t part of the big January pardon thing.
List of pardons.

And Rush is just now getting around to using it to lambast Clinton?
I sincerely hope a moderator comes in here pretty soon and yells at you real good, before moving this to the Pit where it belongs, Bill. You’re taking up perfectly good GQ forum space with this claptrap.
You post this deliberately inflammatory crap in General Questions, under the pretext of asking an innocent question about pardons:
You ought to know better. Or are you just not teachable? Didn’t Lynn already warn you about trolling?
It isn’t cute any more, Bill.
Where’ve you been? Wall Street Journal (online for a fee, use Search), Oct. 4, by Rush Limbaugh (figgers, don’t it?): “Clinton Didn’t Do Enough To Stop Terrorists”. Tone of text is predictable, and repeats the “Wag the Dog” stuff when acknowledging what he did do.
-
Presidents have the unconditional power to pardon.
-
When someone gets pardoned, it’s always someone convicted of a felony. You can’t pardon people who haven’t broken the law.
-
Terrorists probably have a better chance of being pardoned than the general population of felons, since they are often political bargaining chips. “Terrorist” is in the eye of the beholder, after all.
Politics is a nasty business.
ElvisL1ves: What?! The Wall Street Journal printed the opinion of an inflammatory conservative?? Oh, my stars and garters…
Duck Duck,
I like you. I think you are a nice person. What I can’t figure out why you like this guy? He is bad news. PERIOD. This was a not troll post. It was to find out if he really pardoned people that blew things up. And it looks like he did. So where is trolling please tell me.
I did not say he had anything to do with that writer being killed I just thought it was ironic.
Why don’t we call Bill Clinton an ass and leave it at that?
Last time I checked he said, and I’m paraphrasing, but well. -‘we went after Bin Laden, but we failed to get him’
Well, got some news for ya Billy Boy: WHEN YOU ARE THE LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD, FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION.
Also, when you pardon people, you run the risk of it coming back to haunt you later. I don’t even care about who he pardoned at this point. Bill Clinton was a failure when it came to battling terrorism, and when it came to disarming Saddam’s stockpile of Biological weapons. These failures bring his pardons under greater scrutiny than they would otherwise.
Bill got his ass kicked by:
-Bin Laden
-Husein
-Hi, Opal
When you are the leader of the free world, failure is NOT and option.
