I have red hair and brown eyes and I am always wearing sunglasses if I am going to be anyplace near sunlight. I wear them on the train, when I am walking from place to place, etc. When I lived someplace that I needed a car I wore them to drive. Macular degeneration runs in my family so I take extra care of my eyes to prevent having to go through that when I get older.
How did people fare before sunglasses? IIRC, kids wore wide brimmed hats just as often as adults. And some people just squint and get the wrinkled facethat goes with it.
I’m an adult and I lose them every year*. Chiefly because I don’t like sunglasses. I don’t like one bit that they hide the eyes. I only wear them in the car, in winter (when the sun is low) but in the summer they wander off and get lost.
*Not so much anymore, since I installed a clip-thing on my visor to put them in. Only took me 14 years of driving to figure that one out.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for this link!!! I’m in the same boat, and basically buy those same types of glasses from gas stations/convienence stores etc… and at $15 (polarized ones) or so a pair, it adds up fast. Now I’ll just buy a dozen, and keep sets all over the place!
I can’t believe I never thought to look for them in bulk before. :smack:
I don’t know about kids, but I don’t wear sunglasses either.
I started wearing sunglasses when I was about 5 or so. I would get a pair every summer from K-mart when I was a kid.
Ever since high school I have been wearing Ray Bans, I am on my 4th or 5th pair in about 14 years or so. Mostly due to changing tastes in styles and one pair 9my favorite pair ever) met a tragic end by being crushed by a work truck tailgate. I still have my old sunglasses, I keep them for back-up in case I leave my sunglasses at work or something.
I wear my sunglasses every day, even when it is cloudy. I do have extremely light sensitive eyes [light green].
My daughter wears glasses, and her glasses have Transition lenses, so they turn to sunglasses when she’s in the sun.
I love my Transition lenses…Ivylad has them too.
