Listen Topaz, I’m a little short this month - could you loan me $50?
Well, when I worked on the river (Mississippi) I worked witha guy who always said (about loaning money) it was worth $50 to find out if somebody was a son-of-a-bitch.
Of course I also worked with a guy named Cham who shoved a co-worker up against the bulkhead with his forearm against the guy’s throat and a knife to his rib cage and demanded repayment.
(which was, in fact, remitted promptly)
Different approaches but neither has posted here about loans so maybe they were both on to something…
