Why get a bigger battery? (Cars)

I was browsing around www.sounddomain.com and looking around the site when I noticed that alot of people were putting in new batteries. Why would you want a bigger and more powerful battery? I find my car runs fine when I’ve got the system cranked and the tunes going.

Once your car is running it doesn’t matter what kind of battery you’ve got. I know I like a battery with alot of cranking amps (the one that came with my car when brand new was way weak) so my starter will crank fast even when extremely cold or after running accessories with the engine not running.

A bigger battery is less likely to give you trouble starting on cold days. And if you have a lot of extras, especially a powerful stereo, you will probably need it.

If you are just an average joe, who has a newer car, then the bigger battery isn’t really necessary.

I’m too lazy to go look at my battery and find the right terms, but essentially, a “bigger” battery can have more reserve power.

Oh, one more thing. The bigger the battery, the longer you can listen to the radio or watch TV or use a C.B. or do something else that draws current without running the engine.

I can imagoine it being pretty important for cars that are entered in those car stereo contests.

I just put a car battery in my sidecar rig. It makes a MAJOR difference trying to start the thing in the cold. (The bike battery just couldn’t hack it.) I think I’d burn up the starter before I kill that battery.
