Why hasn't the Neighborhood Watch shooter been arrested?

Your times are off.
You’ll have to decode the dispatch logs.
Smith arrives @ 717
iirc hes dispatched @ 713

A cop on another board broke it down and found the guide to their 10 codes

Here’s a graphic:

He didn’t have to cross the street. He just had to go about 100 yards further south and go in the back door.

I have seen that graphic and others. The impression I get is that the house he was headed to was across the street.

Do you have any more specific information that would tell us which side of the street that red dot is supposed to be on?
Cause afaict, that dot is in the middle of the road.

It’s probably been mentioned a thousand posts ago, but all those houses look alike to me in broad daylight. Easy to imagine a visitor there not being sure which house was his in the dark.

Does anyone know the address of Martin’s fiancee’s house?

Based on the police report, it seems that the left hand side (western) of that section of Retreat View Circle has the odd numbers.

If he was going in voluntarily, but said, “I’ll be happy to go with you and answer any questions, but I’'d like to get this bloody shirt off me,” and the police said, “Fine, we need that shirt for evidence anyway,” tell me why that’s impossible?

It sure seems to me as though people have been excoriating the police not not seizing the bloody shirt (if it existed) as evidence.

Now you tell me, “I mean, please,” as though it’s absurd the police would have done such a thing.

This latest video casts strong doubt on Zimmerman’s story, and for the first time I’m of the opinion that police did have probable cause to charge him, and I’d be very curious to learn why the prosecutor’s office overruled that (if they did).

But see my sentence? It’s sprinkled with words like “opinion” and “if they did.”

Why must you cast your opinions in such ironclad form?

This is my favorite part of Zimmerman’s story, according to the Washington Post article **treis **linked to:

So apparently, not only is Martin some hardened thug, he’s also a character actor from a 1950’s western.

Couple things of note. First is that Zimmerman was listed as wearing a read jacket. Second is that Zimmerman was immediately taken into custody and transferred to the PD. He wasn’t interviewed at all by responding officers. But the bloody nose/grass stains comes from one of their reports.

Let me ask again – is “taken into custody” synonymous with “being arrested”? I am sure I’ve heard the police say they didn’t arrest him for lack of probable cause.

And, if he was never arrested, why is he arriving at the police station in handcuffs? Would they do that for someone who volunteered to come in to make a statement?

Tracy Martin’s girlfriend is named Brandy Green, but she is renting her townhome. That doesn’t seem unusual. Retreat at Twin Lakes has 260 units and over 120 of them have owners with different addresses. It looks like the Zimmermans are renters also. The only Zimmerman at Twin Lakes is at a different address than the one shown on the Orlando Sentinel map.

No, he at least received treatment from the SFD in a patrol car first.

These things can be detected w/o an interview I bet.

I’ve been in a few Florida gated communities and it is hideously easy to lose your way. The houses do all look the same. My parents rent down there every year and I have to really make an effort to ensure I’m pulling into the right driveway, even when I’ve done it a dizen times in four days.

I was struck by that quote as well. The entire reported exchange seems cartoonish.

[QUOTE=Washington Post]
Trayvon Martin appeared from behind a building in Zimmerman’s gated community, approached him and demanded, “What’s your problem, homie?”

When Zimmerman replied that he didn’t have a problem, Martin said, “You do now.” The unarmed teenager hit Zimmerman, knocked him to the ground, pinned him down and told him to “shut the [expletive] up.”

During the beating, Zimmerman pulled his gun and fired one shot at close range into Martin’s chest. “You got me,” the teenager said, falling backward.

No, they’re not the same thing. You can be detained in custody without being arrested, and the police may cuff you without arresting you.

Many (most?) departments have a policy that any person detained and transported is placed in cuffs for officer safety. No probable cause needed.

And just to clarify something I said earlier, while I STILL advocate waiting for the complete report before reaching any conclusions, I am prepared to say that if there is no additional evidence explaining why Zimmerman looks so uninjured in the video, then I don’t believe his story.

Can you confirm that the townhouse even has a back door? Mine didn’t. Or it might have a back patio that only unlocks from the inside. I think far too much weight is being put on the amount of time it should have taken Martin to get home, without taking into account that he was likely scared, maybe tried to hide, and is in an unfamilar neighborhood where all the houses look the same.

This paired with the supposed “You gotta problem? Well now you do!” [POW! SMACK! BIFF!] of Zimmerman’s account sounds completely made up.

From CNN:

If they are looking for a unit. 3051 Retreat View is available for rent and has a nice crime scene view.
