I found one source online that has printed the alleged names of three of Mr. Booker’s attackers… why have they not been arrested yet?
Their names (along with the name and phone number of their business) have been all over VB’s Facebook comments from the very beginning. Again, you might want to try the links in the earlier Pit thread on this exact same thing.
In her case the evidence for a felony is right there in the video. The video in Booker’s case does not show any evidence for the most serious crimes that he alleges.
The video by itself does not prove much more than one or two potential misdemeanor assault charges. The guy holding Booker against a tree would seem to meet at least probable cause for assault. Since we do not see what happened before the video starts it is hard to tell beyond a reasonable doubt whether he, Booker, or both could be convicted of assault with perfect evidence.
The big shirtless fuckwit that takes up most of the video may trigger the intimidation part of the Indiana assault law. He also swats at a hand holding the phone to record a couple times. Indiana’s new hate crime law allows increased punishments for convictions of crimes. It is not an entirely separate charge. The slurs this guy uses by themselves are not criminal without that assault, or other, charge.
Those dangers to the community you are so worried about would likely be on the street today if they had been arrested. Misdemeanor assaults would not routinely trigger an outright denial of bail or even high bail. At best we would only be looking at them being held till the next working day before release.
Weeks later…
Purdy’s defense attorney, David Hennessy, had no immediate comment on the charges. Hennessy previously said Booker has presented “a false narrative” and called Booker “the instigator and the agitator.”
Let me guess. The “Instigation” consists of “Booker was walking while black, and did not show his betters the proper respect.”
I’ll never understand this “you need the whole story!” garbage.
“George Floyd was on drugs and committed crime in the past!” So it was ok to murder him?
“Booker instigated the confrontation!” So if he did it was okay to threaten to lynch him?
It’s so stupid.
