It’s been days now. Vehicles are visible in the video; names are used. Why has no one been arrested?

Why haven’t these people been arrested?
Per this source, as of Monday the prosecutor is waiting for all the material from the Indiana DNR.
“I met with Indiana Conservation Officers this morning (Monday, July 6) regarding this case,” [the prosecutor] said, according to Indiana Public Media in a Monday report. “They are actively and thoroughly investigating the events that took place on Saturday. Once my office has received the completed investigation and all associated media, we will review those materials and make charging decisions.”

What happened to the ass in the red car who drove through the Booker protest? That’s an easy arrest. They got the plate on film.
Do they not know who these people are, somehow? For six days, violent and dangerous people are being allowed to roam free. What the fuck?
Yeah, how hard could it be? We can even see their tats. Police could just search for “white power groups Indiana”…
Collecting all the available evidence before charging them ensures that the prosecutor knows fully how much s/he can charge them with and win. It’s not like they’re a flight risk.
They are a danger to the community. There’s no need for “all the available evidence” to effect an arrest.
Besides, what are they doing? Collecting every acorn from the forest to test it? Trying to match the leaves in the video to the leaves they find on the scene?
You can only hold someone for a certain number of days/hours without charging them. You want to make sure what you charge them with is the most you can justify with the evidence. You need to be reasonably certain that evidence will hold up - premeditation, 1st degree, 2nd degree, etc.
Sadly, I was once on a jury where we had to let a guilty man off because the charge was slapped on before the evidence was looked at carefully enough - they’d used a wrong, overly specific charge than what the actual evidence was (though not what the victim had stated, using the wrong term), and there was nothing to be done at that point.
Christi Bennet was arrested within hours of her offense, with no more evidence than is available in the Booker case.
Well yeah, that one was easy.
These guys are obviously apparently guilty. How severe are the charges that the prosecutor can be assured of a jury in that locale voting guilty on? Too high, and the evidence might not be ironclad. Too low, and it’s a joke.
Who knows, maybe they’re dragging their feet, but there’s a lot more to it than “lock them up and we’ll sort it out later”.
I don’t understand this. They can’t add charges later? They can’t reduce charges? Whatever charges they write up at the time of arrest is what they MUST stick to, regardless of anything else?

C’mon there was nothing as serious as possibly passing a fake $20 here, the police don’t want to overreact . . . this time.

Having the DNR investigating instead of the regular police is a bit of a monkey wrench, I’d imagine. Aggravated assault presumably falls a bit outside their typical purview. The fact that they failed to make arrests at the time of the incident is also questionable. On that basis alone, I’d be more confident that justice would be served if it was investigated by, say, the state police.
Right. I’m wondering if the slow response is partly due to their foot-dragging trying to cover their asses for their lack of response at the beginning.
Are they gonna take 3 or 4 months like they did with Mr. Arbery’s murderers?
