Why is ________ famous?

Brocket was convicted of conspiracy to defraud over £4.5 million by claiming his fleet of classic cars were stolen, when he “stole” them himself.

Great. So being a convicted fraudster qualifies you as a celebrity?

I wish I had a big pair of tits. then I too could be on TV.
While were at it, that Kate Lawler bint what won Big Brother and then presented the C4 breakfast show seems to have gladly disappeared into obscurity. Never has the paul seen such inept uninformed presenting in all his years of watching TV.

And don’t get me started on that Jade Goody mang they still keep going on about.

your time is up!

Tobey Maguire wasn’t in The Ice Storm. You must have meant Elijah Wood. “Now he’s Frodo WTF?”

I think he’s a fine actor. Some people just don’t get it when the artist doesn’t club them in the head.

Tobey Maguire was in The Ice Storm: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119349/fullcredits

Remember the bit at the very beginning where he’s sitting on the train and talks about the Fantastic Four?

And I’m rather fond of him myself.

That would be a great title for a children’s book.

Re: the Spice Girls- I liked what Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live said about them when they were hot. "The Spice Girls are auditioning new back-up singers this week, begging the question ‘why does a group of five girls, none of whom play their own instruments, need back-up singers?’

I have got such a thing for Cojo, and I don’t know why. There is just something about him.

#1 on the list of “Rock Widows” is Yoko Ono. #1 on the list of “bizare rock relatives & widows” was Shawna Love Wilson, but she died recently.

The new book for children of all ages. Available from Amazon.com for the low price of £16.99, and at all good bookstores now.

Ah, I was so wrong. I actually never saw the movie, I just thought there was a mix up because I’ve heard people mix up Spiderman and Frodo before.

I didn’t like Spiderman, but Cider House Rules, Wonder Boys, and Seabiscuit are all swell movies and TM does well in them.

Damn … beat me to it.

I’ll add anyone who’s ever appeared on the panel of To Tell the Truth. Kitty Carlisle? Peggy Cass? Bill Cullen? Who were these people?

I suspect a lot of people who appeared on celebrity panel shows of the 1970s were Broadway actors that were unknown to most Baby Boomers and very young Gen-Xers, but relatively familiar for some reason among the older pre-Baby Boomer crowd.

Peggy Cass won a Tony in 1957 for “Auntie Mame”, Kitty Carlisle was a stage/film actress of the 1930’s (she’s in “Night at the Opera”) who was married to stage writer/director/producer Moss Hart, and Bill Cullen was a long-time game show host.

Any other questions?

David Hasselhoff. Whose idea was it to show us his hairy chest in Baywatch? And when did he decide he could sing?

Charlie Rose… dull, thick, and an awful interviewer. Yet he consistently scores the biggest names to appear on his show. What did I miss about his rise to fame?

Disagree about the Match Game crowd. elmwood is right about Broadway being the principal milieu from which they were drawn, yet they were often very witty & enjoyably out-of-control. Among those who were funny enough to deserve their seat:

Nipsey Russell
Scoey Mitchell
Fannie Flagg
Charles Nelson Reilly
Marcia Wallace
Patti Deutsch
