Why is an overbite sexy?

As old as this thread is, I would have thought a lot of people would have had their teeth fixed by now.

Just not that important in some countries.

Maybe I’m too European to notice but what are examples of celebrities with a “normal” bite then? Never would notice anything is “over” or “under” with the celebrities mentioned, their teeth look as normal as can be to my eyes.

Nope.

Yep. Although the operation gave me permanent nerve damage, so I still think that just having falsies might have been better. None of the dentists/ surgeons thought that was a possible option

A little imperfection is always a little bit sexy.

I think you nailed it, Melbourne. I’ve always found Playboy Perfection boring. I prefer a face with some kind of character or distinguishing quirk. My wife just got braces to correct a canine that was a bit too exposed. I always liked it, but it’s her mouth, and it was bothering her. She’s got plenty of character anyway, even without the fang.

I suspect that a smaller lower face (including the jaw) is one of the visual signals of femaleness.

Men develop much heavier bone structures in the face as they mature due to the presence of testosterone; women tend to preserve the proportions of their prepubescent facial structures.

So these lighter jaws and more delicate features are strong signals of femaleness to us beetle browed heavy jawed male types. Just like a number of other so nice features of sexual dimorphism that we possess. I don’t really see any mystery here, but just a lot of beauty.

I have always thought that Marqaux Hemingway had the sexiest overbite.

Although I am uncertain if these actresses have an overbite, they do have prominent grills. Here are some actresses who have prominent grills: Julia Roberts, Anna Nicole Smith, Model Gia Carange, Meg Ryan, (even a reference to it in “InnerSpace” where Martin Short’s character mentions it). Those are only a few. I think ANS had my favorite set of teeth. Well that’s it.
