Why is everyone so afraid of Hyacinth Bucket?

She and her husband her in the Civil War episode.

Yeah, a few times. As to her accent, everyone over there sounds like Monty Python to this Iowa boy, so I don’t know. alphaboi867 mentioned the “Civil War” episode. I remember when Hyacinth wanted to have an outdoor barbecue at Violet’s, and when she arrived Violet and her husband were fighting rather loudly, so Hyacinth came up with the idea that everyone at the barbecue would sing songs (in order to cover up the noise of the arguing inside the house). “There’ll Always Be an England!!..”

One of the things that I think is funny is the scenes of Daisy and Onslow in bed. She’s always reading some Harlequin romance type of book, and he’s always reading “Principles of Quantum Physics” or somesuch.

I saw a documentary on PBS about Patricia Routledge (who plays Hyacinth) once. She has been quite the looker over the years, and evidently quite a good singer as well. Funny woman, and very talented, IMO.
