For years I’ve been buying Maker’s Mark (Sam’s Club brand) toilet paper in huge packs. I had stocked up right before the pandemic hit and just now am getting down to the last ten rolls.
I stopped at my closest Sam’s Club and was surprised to find no toilet paper. Everything was rearranged, so I walked through the entire store before realizing there wasn’t any.
Looking online I saw that some Sam’s Clubs had TP and some did not. I felt kind of strange, but I eventually found some and bought enough to get us through 2020.
Is anyone running into a shortage of liquid drain cleaner? Our local Kroger is limiting purchases of Drano and Liquid Plumber to two bottles a customer, and warning that online orders may not be fulfilled.
I could understand booming sales of plungers and snake tools earlier in the pandemic due to people clogging toilets with improvised wipes, but drain cleaner?
I’m seeing the low stock (not out, but low) and purchase limits. I’m betting a big part of it is not TP, but people are eating in and cooking more. A LOT of people treat the garbage disposal as per it’s name, rather than per it’s design. This can lead to a lot of slow kitchen sinks.
A (probably smaller) group comes from those that used to bike into work or exercise at work (not me, but a friend had this issue). All of a sudden, they’re doubling up on the bathroom usage and lots of extra soap scum and hair that used to be their employer’s problem is now theirs.
Anyway, my online Kroger order for 1 small bottle each of Liquid Plumber and liquid Drano (trying to max out chance of success) yielded 2 bottles of Drano, one the large economy size.
