Why is Kamala Harris seen as unelectable as POTUS?

Thank you, but I don’t see anything racist or misogynistic in post #72. Could you cite which part you are referring to?

And post #74 is from you. You didn’t seem racist or misogynistic either. Could you cite your bigotry and evilness from that post?

Do you agree that the Democrats should run white men, and only white men, for political office for the foreseeable future? Do you think skin color is a disqualifying feature for Democratic politicians?

Modnote: Back away from the Personal Attacks against each other.

Since no one is doing that…oh, sorry, yeah, the Republicans are..

Is anyone here saying dump Harris in favor of a old white guy? No, what we are saying is that at this point in time, Biden has a better chance of beating trump than Harris does. Do you disagree?

Why? In fact crime is one of the few areas that the GOP is doing better with the voters on over the Dems.

One of three issues- the other two were
the Comey memo and the constant stream of attacks from the Bernie-Bros and others.

No one is doing that. A couple posters have said that for President, and only president, we should nominate an oldish white guy. Harris is the Veep. Pelosi was the Speaker. No one is saying minorities should not be Congress members. Only for one job. Let us not expend the thoughts of a couple posters here to w “they” and one position to “all important political positions”.

I can see the difference.

Look it is one thing to say that as of today, we need to nominate Biden to beat trump in 2024. But not necessarily as he is an old white guy, but because he beat trump last time, and now is also the Incumbent. Pure realpolitik. We can NOT allow trump to win again.

This does NOT mean we should nominate an oldish white guy on 2028. However, in 2024, that is the way to go.

Not for President. You are comparing apples and oranges. Look at the Dem caucus, both in Senate on the House. Many more POC and the distaff side than the GOP. 3/4 of the women and 80% of the minorities in Congress are Dems.

Ok can one understand why someone would think it’s racist or sexist to support the position that only white men should be supported for political offices?

Can one understand why it might be considered racist to eliminate qualified candidates solely based on their skin tone?

Again, no one has said that. Only you have added the plural. One poster said that FOR PRESIDENT oldish white guys have the best chance of beating the GOP candidates.

OK, I think this hijack has gone on long enough. Drop the side bit about who’s racist or not. If you wish to continue, take it to the pit.

True. As to this particular thread the point is she was far from unelectable even as a woman.

Wait, was anyone here arguing that we should dump Biden in favor of Harris in 2024?! I don’t think so, but if anyone did they’re very very wrong.

When a Black guy ran for governor in Massachusetts, the polling stations in Black neighborhoods literally ran out of ballots because the turnout was so much higher than typical.

http://archive.boston.com/news/local/politics/candidates/articles/2006/11/07/patrick_makes_history/

Patrick’s victory was fueled by heavy voting in many of the state’s minority districts. Turnout in some areas of Boston was so strong that polling stations ran out of ballots, leaving long lines of frustrated voters. City officials rushed to get new ballots to those polling places.

There are lots of Black voters who aren’t bothering to vote in some of those swing states.

I think being a woman is much more of a challenge for her than being Black. I suspect that being Black will help her. Being kind of boring and establishment may help, too.

She probably wouldn’t be my first choice of nominee. But she seems like an eminently viable candidate.

Actually, Deval Patrick would be a terrific candidate, in my humble opinion. But i don’t know if he has the backing to do it.
