Why is Saudi Arabia killing a journalist such a big issue

And naturally:

Trump defends Saudi crown prince over question about killing of Khashoggi

“Things happen”

I mean, who among us hasn’t murdered and dismembered a man trying to apply for a marriage license while his fiancee sat in the car outside and then disposed of the body in a series of suitcases so it could never be found?

Trump did grow up in a city famous for concrete outerwear, so it’s not surprising.

And international politics can mean that morally purist principles (should one have any) tend to take the back seat - or even be left off the bus.

Besides, they have all that oil, and all that money. How can we possibly shun them for one little (horrible) murder?

Trump and the prince make a pretty pair, each eying the other like a wolf eyes a sheep. In any contest between them, my money is on the prince.
