why is the sky blue?

I remember being told as a kid that the sky was blue because the sea was blue. Being gullible, I took it as complete truth. (come on i was a kid) Its only come to my attention now that, hey, water is transparent and with all the vegetation and stuff in the oceans should they, and therefore the sky, be green?

Can someone help?

thanks for that. took a real burden off…

… that and the 50 pound rucksack. Aaaahhhh.

OK, now, if the sun is yellow, and the sky is blue, why isn’t the air green?

I once saw a yellow-greenish haze hanging off the coast between Long Beach and Catalina Island.

Oh sure, just come along and ruin my smart ass remark why don’t you.

Glad to oblige. It’s all part of God’s wonderful plan.

Dont go putting words in my mouth :wally

:eek:Can you let me in on it? Pllllleeeeeaaaaasssseeeee.

 Does that mean that…<shudder> you’re God? Come on, you can tell me, I won’t tell anyone else, I prommise.

Round here, if the air looks green it means it’s fixin’ to hail.

To hail what? Hail to the chief? Oh, wait, nevermind…
