Why is there a Boeing ad on my TV?

Seriously. What does Boeing want me to do? I am not in the market for an airliner, fighter plane, helicopter, or spacecraft. I don’t personally know anyone who is in the market for those things. I would imagine that Boeing advertises heavily to those people who are in the business of procuring airliners, etc. I have ridden aboard several Boeing aircraft and none have crashed. Therefore, I am satisfied with Boeing’s performance. However, I have been aboard aircraft built by other companies and they have not crashed either. I tend to purchase tickets based on when and where the flight is going. I trust, perhaps foolishly, that the airline will provide an aircraft equal to the task. I cannot imagine my calling up the airline and saying, “Please send a Boeing aircraft for my flight. I really enjoyed their commercials.”

So, why does Boeing spend money advertising to me, the non-aircraft purchasing public?

What were you watching? They advertise a lot during the Sunday-morning news shows.

Last month’s thread.

It was the Meet the Press tribute to Tim Russert.

Thanks Q.E.D.. I withdraw my thread.
