When I read this post a few days ago I thought you were being overly harsh and jumping to conclusions, Frank, but today I saw that ArtzWolf has started a CS thread asking for advice on his Girl Genius slash fiction. He mentioned both in this thread and in the one about his niece’s dating prospects that she writes Girl Genius slash fiction:
This strikes me as an oddly specific hobby for an uncle and niece to share. ArtzWolf has also mentioned that both he and his niece volunteer at animal shelters, which isn’t particularly unusual in and of itself, but it’s rather strange that ArtzWolf and his niece have so many common interests – especially since they don’t even live near each other.
I’m posting this not because I’m excited about playing troll hunter, but because I think there’s a good chance we’re dealing with a troubled person who is indulging in some sort of fantasy here. If that’s the case ArtzWolf I wanted to let you know that we’ve seen this sort of thing before, and it hasn’t ended well. The SDMB can be a supportive place, but we don’t take kindly to being lied to. If your niece with special needs is fictional, if you are the “niece” and your supportive uncle is fictional, or if you’re otherwise posting under false pretenses here, it would be best for you to either come clean with us now or go away quietly.
