Why is this woman not being charged with rape?

It’s standard journalistic practice to use the term “alleged” in all cases where someone is charged with an offence, for two reasons:

  1. It’s fairer to the accused. The charges have not been proven in court.

  2. It protects the news outlet from a libel action. If they say the “victim of the crime” that’s saying the accused committed the crime. If the accused is acquitted, a libel action may lie.

So, if it’s impossible for a woman to commit rape…
And the penis-wielder identifies herself as being of the female gender…
.
After all, we have to accept an alternate-gendered person’s personal designation of gender, right?

This probably gets you an 8 or 9 score as a Fox News website article comment, but here it’s barely a 1 and you’re flirting with complete disqualification.

If that’s a debate you wish to have, you’re welcome to start that thread in the appropriate forum. Let’s not derail this thread. Thanks.
