it doesn’t seem that hard to make a good show where Chuck Norris goes around roundhouse kicking criminals
and why are all the “action” scenes in slo motion. It gets stale really quickly

Probably because Chuck was 53 years old when he started the show, and didn’t get younger as it went on. If you show the fight scenes in slo-mo, it’s harder to notice that they were actually performed in slo-mo.
wow please don’t slander Chuck Norris. He can still kick ass at any age
and even a lot of stuff during car chases was in slow motion too so it can’t be just that
That and he’s generally speaking a wooden actor.
That’s probably the nicest thing I’ve said about him in years. There’s no shame to getting older and losing a step. I wish we could all as well as him at age 53, but that doesn’t mean he’s the same as he was at 33.
Can’t speak as to the car chases. Stylistic choice, maybe, to match up with the fight scenes better?
Because…Chuck Norris? Ass-kicking abilities aside, he was a crappy actor at best, and he’s gone downhill since age 5.
The storylines were fraught with subtle nuance, and deep resonance on the human condition.
Let’s not forget that the show’s audience isn’t martial arts/action flick fans. It’s Matlock fans. They don’t want a flurry of blows their eyes can’t follow. So you have to slow the action down.
And they want an unbeatable upright good guy, with simple plots they can follow.
But yeah, Chuck is a fairly wooden actor.
Norris isn’t so good an actor, but he isn’t all that bad. Ranger Trivette (Clarence Gilyard) did a damn fine job as supporting lead. He was the best thing in the show; he could easily have stolen every scene, but was loyal enough not to.
I found the show to be a “guilty pleasure.” Sort of like “The Rat Patrol.” Yeah, it’s formula. Yeah, it’s two-dimensional. Yeah, it’s soap opera. But…yeah! Blow things up! Beat people’s faces in! Hot damn!

I’m sure he’s a really nice guy. He really seems to be in shape. Man, he sure can sell a [del]bowflex[/del] Total Gym. If no one has seen his commercial, here’s a link.
I’m not a trained critic for any of the various styles of acting. Still, please don’t ask us to tell lies about someones talent in one direction, especially when they seem to have plenty of talent in others.
And children, at least starting with the fifth season.
He was kind of cool in Expendables 2, for the few minutes he goes nuts and blows away a few guys. I had initially heard he wouldn’t appear in the movie unless they cut it down to PG-13, but in the end, it was R and he was still in it.
