Kinda sorta. Greece, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and other countries were “resurrected” by the winners of WWI from the Ottoman Empire. The “Mandate of Palestine” was ceded to Britain (who didn’t really want it), and was later divided between Israel and the stillborn state of Palestine.

So, yes, Israel was set up by Britain and France, as was Greece or Syria. Yet nobody questions their legitimacy.

That was quite a bit. Hope my remarks haven’t upset anybody. Again, this is fairly new ground for me and I apologize if my views were less than accurate. They were built upon a lot of misconceptions.

Although it may not sound right asking but are you saying that the Jews have never done anything that would be deemed as incorrect. And that all the disdain throughout at least 2000 years is ultimately founded on absolutely nothing?

Greece was “resurrected” well before WWI.

Also lots of People dispute the legitimacy of the borders of those other nations.

For example Syria has long argued Lebanon should have been part of it and Iraq invaded Kuwait partly on the pretext Kuwait should have been a part of them.

Thanks for the correction vis a vis Greece; I did not address the issue of borders as not particularly relevant to the original question concerning Israel’s founding.
