I am sorry for your loss. It can be even harder when it is so sudden.
I lost my big brown girl a couple months ago. I still miss her.

I’m so sorry. My lab-mix only made it to about 11 or 12 (not sure, since we got her as an adult.)
Awww. My condolences.
We decided will will never get another Saint Bernard after losing each of ours at the age of about 5 years. They are prone to so many problems. It leaves a big vacant space in one’s home and one’s heart.
I am so sorry to hear this, losing a pet is never easy.
I lost my beloved Aussie, Delilah, at 17 years. I was also 17 at the time, there had never been a point in my life where she wasn’t there. Sheba our other Aussie made it to 15 and our Catahoula made it to 13. I know that for big dogs they all lived a good long life, but the loss of each them still pains my heart. I have always believed that big dogs don’t live as long because they love greater than any other, and their heart gives out.
This.
Thank you all for the kind words
I’ve been dealing this week with the possibility of losing my big baby Bitz the Wondermutt, a 10 YO Rottie/Lab mix, and it’s been devastating.
She appears to be on the rally, but she’s not out of the woods yet. The pain of not knowing if I’m going to lose her is nothing compared to the pain of what will be if it actually happens.
She, and I, send you our condolences and best wishes. If she goes, I’ll tell her to look Trigger up, since Good Dogs have to stick together.
I would probably think they die early cause of all the inbreeding dogs go through to get the different shapes and sizes they are.
I do love Great Danes. I had a collie/shepherd mix and he was 15 1/2 when I put him to sleep. He probably could’ve made it another year or so had I been able to take care of him.
But you should get another doggie, not to replace the lost one 'cause he won’t do that, but there are lots of dogs that need your help to find a home.
I’m sorry, BluePitBull. I’ve always had large dogs and most of them died early too. Now my little cocker spaniel is getting close to the end of his life and I don’t think that he has more than a few months left at best. He’s blind, deaf, incontinent and his hip displasia is so bad that I usually have to carry him in and out. It’s breaking my heart to watch him get more frail by the day. I got him from the pound so I’m not sure how old he is but I’d guess he’s at least 12. But he still wags his little tail and licks the cats until their sopping wet so hopefully I have a little more time with him. It just sucks : (
