Why no credit for the guy who wrote the music?

I just watched Rocket Science on DVD and was checking out the movie on IMDB and discovered that the extensive credits, that include the set decorator buyer, don’t mention Eef Barzelay who wrote all the original music for the film.

Anyone have any idea why this would be omitted?

The database is largely user-built (and should never be considered a definitive source, although it’s a great basic reference). It may be that the “set decorator buyer” submitted his own information and Eef didn’t.

If it’s important to you, click on the goldenrod-colored “Update” button near the bottom of the page.

Was Barzelay credited on the DVD? If not, and the IMBD entry uses that as its primary source, then there you go. Yes, it raises a whole different question of why he may not be credited there, and you’re into complicated issues of licencing and so on (cf. the writers’ strike). (It’s possible that he signed over the rights completely for a lump sum, in which case there will be no acknowledgement, even if it is common knowledge.)
