That’s still boring, though. Instead of an addict stealing shit, bringing unsavory people around, fistfights, etc., you just get an annoyed spouse/parent bitching about the gamer being in front of a computer screen all day.
Exactly my point. Comparing gaming addiction to someone addicted to say, heroin, who is stealing from their family, hanging around with violent thugs, and turning tricks to support their habit is ridiculous.

But it makes video game addiction entertaining by satirizing the concept. Successfully making fun of a dumb idea isn’t an endorsement of the dumb idea.
Same here. I wonder what became of that young actor…
He did a TV series which required him to regularly dress in drag. Utterly ruined his career.

Neglecting your family can be just as destructive.
Huh. I thought he died of AIDS.
Also: Second Skin. I saw this one in 2008 at SXSW, thought it was pretty decent.

I’ve heard the same kind of thing about Internet pornography. Anyone who would spend every waking moment doing ANYTHING, no matter what it is, has serious problems.
The A&E series “Intervention” has had a couple of video game and pornography addicts on, although with one exception they also had massive substance abuse issues.
Search for the movie Cyber Seduction (I think YouTube has it). Makes Reefer Madness look like Citizen Kane !
