Whups, me brain ain’t work’n right today. Sorry about that.
Oh, great. Now we’ve got a Feldman/Haim debate going on–the early-80s teenage girl version of the PC/Mac war.
Macs are better…
and I was kidding about feldman…
Haim is better… just for his performance in Blown away with Nicole Eggert:D
I think the real question is, “Why isn’t this asshole rotting in jail to this day, instead of making us all sick on the TV?”
Justice isn’t blind. Its starstruck.
What really worries me is that half the worlds population is below average.
Didn’t they just come out with news that up to two drinks a day may prove beneficial for men? Help stop heart attacks, IIRC.
<---- Note the smiley!
I have to agree with my pal Coldfire here. What good would it do if the guy never drank again? I wouldn’t bring his victims back to live. It would be like trying to fix something after the fact, after it’s too late, anyway, just to make someone feel better. Purely punitive, IMHO.
Let’s take someone who has accidently shot someone else to death. That person doesn’t have to give up owning guns or hunting or whatever. But it would be appalingly tasteless if he or she allowed a camera crew to film them at the shooting range. It would be ignorant.
Regardless of whether or not what Vince is doing is right, I hope nobody believes he can’t get seriously sloshed on “wine with dinner”. Wine has the potential to get you seriously trashed, even if food is present.
Thank you for seeing the light:D
Besides, I mean, there’s no competition, I mean, did you see “Prayer for the Rollerboys?”
I can’t believe the academy snubbed him!
Robbed, truly robbed…
Maybe I’m being arrogant, or holier than thou. I’m not saying he shouldn’t. I’m saying if I were in his position I wouldn’t-especially not on television.
Papa John Phiilips (RIP) got a liver transplant years ago after a lifetime of substance abuse. A reporter later caught up with him knocking a few back in a bar. The question was, “Did he deserve a liver more than the next person on the list if he was just going to destroy it?” He had no answer…
(Read his autobiography if you really want to be disgusted by a human being).
Don’t you mena Prayer of teh rollerboys??
I guess you also have had many nights where you find yourself not sleeping and watching TNN or Showtime at 3:00 in the morning just to see the obscure movies??
The scary thing is… when you are dead tired… you actually start to think they should have won an award for it…
I think everyone here knows that you CAN get drunk off wine…
that is not the issue…
my question was more… was he drunk? was he driving?
I don’t think anyone should expect him to stop drinking…
I do think everyone should expect that he drink responsibly…and not drive afterwards…
but from what I saw on tv… he was not drunk… all he was doing was drinking wine with dinner with the other people in the house… no one should blame him for that
I know what the issue is. That’s why I said “Regardless”.
Others were adequately adressing the morality issue. I saw the “just drinking wine” mentioned twice and winced at the notion that made his drinking okay. Twern’t a hijack, just a deserved clarification.
I think it’s fair to say that anyone who ever saw any of the various band-ographies of Motley Crue knows that everyone in the band had one addiction or another – or more than one. Vince Neil did not get drunk enough to kill someone that one night in a vacuum. It was a part of a lifestyle that he claimed to have put behind him after jail, but…
Is he an alcoholic? I don’t know, I can’t say. I can say that I agree with Lola and those who say that if alcohol, and my lack of ability to control my intake thereof, was the reason why I had caused another person to die and gravely injured two others, it would no longer have any part in my life.
The good it would do would be to insure that I never lost control again. It would also serve as appropriate penance, I think, for murdering someone, especially someone I claimed was a friend.
D’oh, yes you are correct, with “of the”. I can’t believe Patricia Arquet (sp?) was in that movie.
Ah, the 3am movie hour. Insomnia sucks, but the movies are good.
The funny thing is, I actually watched that movie later (I rented it) and I realized it was awful. What was I thinking?
Why the fuck is Vince Neil still drinking booze? That is a good question, and it’s about time it got asked. Few people have as much relevance to our daily lives, not to mention influence on the young people today, as the singer who got fired from Motley Crue. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to drop to my knees and throw my hands in the air while wailing "What is this world coming to?!?!?
I’m being a smartass, but that is sad about his daughter. I hope the Neil family all get the help they need.
