Astro: The first clue (in the OP’s thread, at least) that pk was completely divorced from reality was the absolute bullshit about FDR knowing that the Japanese were going to attack Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
Oh come on, people, pkbites was voicing his unpopular opinion in a friendly, smiley way. He even made a funny joke about it. If anyone thinks he’s an idiot because of what he thinks, that’s one thing, but how can one construe that he abuses his wife and children because he doesn’t like FDR? Seems unfair and absurd to me.
I think the degree of attack should be taken into consideration. People are trying to draw a parallel between this story and:
-You’re an idiot.
-Well, you’re stupid!
-MAAAAA!!! HE CALLED ME STUPID!!!
While this is funny, and may have some small thing in common with the present situation, it’s still rather inaccurate. What happened looked more like:
-You’re an idiot.
-Well, you abuse your wife and children.
-MAAAAAAAAAWDS!!! BAN THE BASTARD!!!
Although GD is not the place to go around calling people “idiots,” I think that this infraction is rather mild, when compared to the insinuation that pkbites abuses his family. That’s a pretty shitty thing to say to someone.
