Hmm over a month and no script, nor an admission of defeat. Did I miss something or did Diogenes the Cynic just slink away quietly, hoping no one would notice?
I’m not sure I would call this monstrosity of a thread “quietly slinking away.”
Short version: yes, he finished. It’s linked in the above linked thread somewhere.
Hm sorry, I glanced through the last few pages but must’ve missed it. My bad!
Not sure where to ask- just wondering if Ellenfair has any reaction to the DGA reaching a deal with the AMPTP. Will the writers be willing to settle for roughly the same? A few key points:
Establishing DGA jurisdiction over programs produced for distribution on the Internet;
Boosting the residuals formula for paid Internet downloads (electronic sell-through) by double the current rate;
And establishing residual rates for ad-supported streaming and use of clips on the Internet.
What about that announcement that studios are cancelling production of new series? Is that meaningful, or just more “we can hold out longer than you can” tactics that can be reverese on a dime if the writers give in?
Any production is like a lumbering behemoth of a ship. None of them “turn on a dime”. It’s like a giant oil tanker- turning is sloooow and needs lots of planning for the ship to be anywhere near on the right course.(Phew- overlaboured comparison of the month!) Once things have been put on hiatus there will be at least a month before you have anything new- and that’s under the absolute best of conditions.
