We were trying to reinstal Windows XP and it wouldn’t let us format. Everytime we did, it would dump the physical memory. Well, now it won’t even load up bios. It just shuts down. Any idea guys?
Does it give you a beep code or do the LEDs flash?
hm not sure, but I’m not hearing a beep codes. Thats why I don’t know whats going on. I wasn’t hearing any EARLIER. I haven’t looked yet.
The Surb’s is saying there is the normal beeps, but nother else. He says it sees the hard drives and memory, but it does not fnish the boot.
You may have a bad hard drive. Run your drive maker’s diagnostic boot disk.
Your hard drive may need a new partion table writen with fdisk, and then a full format. A full format is the term MS uses for rewriting all the clusters over instead of a partial that only rewrites the file allocation area.
I didn’t think a hard drive problem would stop it from finishing the boot, but it does. I swapped out my hard drives and now it boots.
I had disconnected the “good” drive because I was trying to format the other drive and it stopped booting.
Thanks for the help.
