Not I.
Methinks Four hours became four days over the course of a few beers. Or copious amounts of drugs were used onboard.
Sort of like the 50 foot anaconda in Indonesia that became 20 feet once measured, only impossible to disprove.
Strange how boats sink in very deep water when help is nearby; sharks live in the ocean, sometimes sharks ram and bite boats; boat sinks, water too deep to salvage boat, insurance pays off, new boat, no sharks.
Reads OP…
Hmmm. Googles, reads news articles. Uses links in news articles, reads more.
Interest is piqued… Reads thread.
Looks up, checks forum.
Reads thread again. Checks forum again…
Hmmm… Does anybody have anything??? An interesting, if unrelated, story about a cat getting attacked by guppies? Anything?
I’m smelling some strong Bullshark re this story.
At the foot of the Faux News story linked by Operation Ripper is an acknowedgment that their story is extracted from a News Press article to which they are kind enough to link.
There is either some innocent “chinese whispers” or some rather less innocent “sexing up” of the original story going on here (which it is I leave to the cynicism level of the reader).
If you read the News Press story, it is pretty clear that most of the dramatic and “Jaws”-like elements of the story linked from the OP (and the Faux News story) are complete crap.
The sharks hadn’t been attacking for days. They were just hanging around waiting for scraps like they always do.
In the middle of the night there was a thump (no one even saw what they hit) and they experienced vibration (ie had a bent prop or tailshaft) and a leak. The skipper speculates that it was a shark. He thinks one “got caught up”.
“Fishing boat sinks after prop strike on unknown object. Shark suspected” ain’t nearly as sexy as a wild tale of evil shark packs pounding a boat to its doom, I guess.
Buzz Kill
They’re going to need a bigger boat…
Are you saying this was a boating accident?
No one will ever know [cue spooky music]
Y’know, I seen me a mermaid once. I even seen me a shark eat an octopus. But I ain’t never seen no phanton bull sharks attack a shrimp boat!
