It is Genetically Modified foods. Ya know, where they splice a fish gene into tomatoes or some such. There’s been problems with the plants hybridizing with other plants despite efforts to keep this from happening. So far, the jury’s still out on if they’re a good thing or not.
I don’t think YHWH has been slacking, SimonX. I think YHWH probably decided to subcontract out the job to the FDA, so that the bigger cosmic stuff can get more attention.
And oops, I goofed on the interpretation of GM. I just saw “GM” and “food” in the same sentence and my tired mind just thought of General Mills first.
Sorry.
Maybe He should go even further and subcontract out things to each individual?

That explains it! Iyyob is a cattle rancher!
bolding obviously mine
Oh goody! Can I be in charge of the laws of physics? This whole business about the speed of light’'s really getting on my nerves, and entropy ain’t so hot either, so I’d like to be able to tinker around with them to find laws more to my liking.
OK, I did, and I’m having me some Mu Shu Pork tonight. Cheers.
I’m shocked, shocked, the OP hasn’t returned to defend and amplify his cogent arguements.
Lying around somewhere I have a Reader’s Digest from around 1960 and it has a very interesting article describing the wonders of antibiotics. It predicted that in a few years cattle would be injected large quantities of antibiotics and then the meat would have more added and this would allow it to conserve well without need for refrigeration. This was going to be a wonderful thing because it would help solve world hunger in countries too poor to afford refrigeration. Very entertaining if not very accurate.
Wow! It’s all too obvious I’m not a doctor. Sorry about that.
Doesn’t scripture say anything about the evil of tofu? It should.
Not only a beef-farmer but a Fundy one at that.
Now what kind of a world do we live in when this @#%$^&# is placed on so-called ‘Ignorance Fighting’ messageboards?
Well that’s scary, we’re hearing the same voice in our heads.
Just curious, all your folks ridiculing the OP, I guess you feel the same way about Jews? They use a source even older than Reader’s Digest…
Mmmm, I love the smell of agenda in the morning.
Nice attempt to stir things up, but nope. And you forgot muslims.
Thing is, last I checked, neither of these groups have posted OPs to this forum stating that readers should stop eating pork.
If all of the Jews in the world spammed the board with a similar OP I’d feel the same way about them.
Until then, I’ll just evaluate people on a case by case basis, thanX.
I’m thinking about it. And the more i think about it the more I think it is a stupid reason to not eat pork. As has been pointed out, the danger is close to nonexistant.
Now, if the Scriptures would tell me how I can get my Win98SE computer to stop crashing then I would say that’s something.
You’ve been hanging around Ilya Prigogine too long!
Because of this 1950 RD article, God labelled pigmeat unclean.
God, being omiscient, read the 1950 Reader’s Digest article while He was resting on the seventh day and said “Hmmm. I could do away with trichinosis. I think instead I’ll just mave there be some scripture agin eatin pig. I kinda like the porkers.”
SimonX!
That is some God awful Sacreligiousness.
I’m sure the only reading material the Lord keeps by the bowl are books by Cecil!
