I have a wierd smell coming from my sink. Luckily, I can’t smell it unless I’m right over it, but but it’s still nasty. Anybody have any suggestions to get rid of it?
wash your dishes
dump some bleach down it. if you have a grabage disposal, grind up graprefuit peels in it.
Hmm. Could be a small clog starting to form and holding something putrid and rotting in the trap. Try a drain cleaner.
And it’s spelled weird. Sorry, pet peeve.
It’s wierd that you’d have a pet peeve about people who spell the word wierd wrong. Sorry, it’s my pet peeve to spell that word wrong just to tick you off.

Thanks for pointing that out. The “i before e” rule didn’t pan out on that one. I’ve been spelling it wrong for years.
try pouring some baking soda down there…
the stuff can work wonders
A plumber told me that it was bacteria and mold and such growing. Bleach works temporarily, but it will be a recurring problem. Bleach weekly will keep it under control.
Running a cut-up orange, grapefruit, lemon, or lime down your disposall occassionally will help clean it out and make it smell fresh.
Baking soda with a chaser of vinegar. There’s probably a bit of rotting food stuck in the S-bend, and this will help get it out of there. Doing this regularly, maybe once a month or whenever something smells funny, will also help prevent the drain from clogging up entirely.
