There is an old tradition that the Civil War Cemetary on Lookout Mountain, outside Chattanooga, is haunted, but not by a ghost.
Old Red Eyes is described as corporeal; in fact, as a ghoul.
He reputed feeds on the dead soldiers, & waylays travellers.
There were 20th Century purported sightings.
I took this tour back in October. The website is pretty cheesy but the tour itself is pretty fun. Probably better near Halloween. But they point out some of the supposedly haunted areas in the downtown area (Ryman, Hermitage Hotel, capitol building, Printers Alley.) The tour leader said they wanted to come up with 2 or 3 different versions eventually, but I’m not sure how far they’ve gotten yet.
Of course there’s always your library or bookstore’s Local Interest section for some good reads. I used to eat that stuff up as a kid.
