This. It’ letting Bush and Nixon slip away without punishment that has done the damage, and all but guarantees even more disaster down the road. We’ve made it quite clear that Republican Presidents are above the law.

Oh, please. Do you really think that Nixon’s non-punishment wasn’t in the back of Bush’s mind the whole time? He knew that he could do anything without fear, and look at the results.

That’s not what was suggested. What was suggested was that he be required to spill his guts about everything. If Bush spilled his guts about everything the entire country would go down. That’s just the natural result of pulling apart all of a President’s decisions.
