Why thank you- but yours is much better! I was under time pressure and have subsequently spent many a fruitless hour thinking up cleverer, wittier, etc. alternatives worthy of a Culture ship. Unfortunately it was a change of username because in my newbie days I was witless enough to use my IRL name as my username, so no chance of a further change…
Can I just thank everyone who has offered their opinions? It sounds as if my Tivo might be right after all (I find that rather scary, actually!). I’m going to watch the first episode this evening; wish me well, wise Dopers.
